Pages 02/08/14

Well, it's been awhile. Here are a couple things I've been working on over the past few weeks. Top are some Anti-Valentine Charms I made for a swap. I picked up the metal charms from  eBay and made the hearts from air dry clay.  I then wrapped wire around the handles and made some small dangle wire pieces.
The bottom is a ceramic Catrina Bowl I am painting with underglazes. Next stop is the kiln.

Pages 7/31/12

A few things I've been working on. Some altered images I paint, doodle and stamp on. I'll use those in journal spreads, like the one above. I'm also working on some pottery too, trying to build up my stock before the big show in November. It's hard getting back into clay after many months off, but I'm trying. ;-)

Treasures from the kiln. Check out the haul. :-) Opening the kiln is always big fun. Perfect firing, nothing lost, nothing needing to be re-fired. Getting ready for my show in November. Hoping to get in one more load before then.

My finished clay boxes. I was *SO* excited when these came out of the kiln. The colors on the moon box really intensified more than I expected. I finished the lids with ornamental pulls.

Pages 05/15/09

I am still on a bit of a pottery kick. This is the latest kiln fire from this Wednesday. The trivets, skulls, mugs and ornaments are all on the final glaze fire. Last things to do are add some cork backing to the trivets and do some nice copper wiring on the ornaments. I am really pleased how the hand made skulls came out. I might do some in color next time, but it's alot of work!
The cardboard box of pendants, two boxes and the frames need to be glaze fired now. I am not 100% sure how I will finish the pendants and frames yet.
I'm off this afternoon and tomorrow to take a workshop at A Work of Heart in Willow Glen with Teesha and Tracy Moore. I am really excited to learn some of their techniques. I'm hoping I can take some pictures to share with you.

I got a hankering to work on some ceramics pieces this past weekend. These are bisque fired cork toppers. I just drew the black lines first, and will color them next weekend. After the color goes on, I'll fire them to cone 06, then apply the transparent glaze and refire. I'll post the next stage as soon as I get 'em done.
